<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n The Studies and Economic Media Center (SEMC), in cooperation with the International Media Support (IMS) has organized a training course on social media for social media activists from Sana’a, Aden, Hodeida, Taiz and Hadramout.<\/span><\/p>\n At the opening of the function, Mustafa Nasr, SEMC chairman, confirmed that training is highly important for social media activists as it provides them with skills and experiences that enable them to be trainers in the field of social media. He highlighted that SEMC is interested in social media training as such a kind of media largely influence public opinion.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n He also stressed the importance of setting a set of professional and ethical standards for <\/span> <\/span>social media which have become a key source of information for the traditional media, and constitute an outlet for the general public and other actors that enables them express their views and tackle social issues.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>For her part, the Yemen-based IMS representative and consultant, Thikra Abbas, stressed the importance that the course must come up with tangible results in terms of boosting the efficiency of the trainees, who would become trainers in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n The course, run by trainer Thamir Al-Awayesha, would last for five days during which time new training techniques shall be applied to social media.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/span> <\/span>SEMC is a non-profit NGO that seeks to spread awareness of economic issues and to prop up transparency, good governance and citizenry participation in decision making, in addition to the creation of professional media, and tackling women’s and youths’ issues.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Studies and Economic Media Center (SEMC), in cooperation with the International Media Support (IMS) has organized a training course on social media for social media activists from Sana’a, Aden, Hodeida, Taiz and Hadramout.
