SEMC Trains Taiz’s Youth to Make TV reports

On Tuesday 27 December, the training course of TV media concluded, which focused on “techniques to make TV reports”. It was organized by Studies & Economic Media Center and Initiative of Ambitious Youth. The course aims to train journalists and activists in Taiz province on skills to make TV reports. It included several axes; ” the processes of making the first scenario, the plan of filmmaking, the basics of writing, the basics of field filmmaking, the processes of sound recording and live coverage from the event site, the skills of the field producing for interviews as well as the axis of the journalist’s security and the information security.” 31 trainees have participated in the course over three days, and this course came in series of qualitative courses organized by the media center with the Initiative of Ambitious Youth, through which the center seeks to find a free speech by strengthening the role of citizen’s journalism. At the closing ceremony, Mohammed Ismail Executive Director of the Centre stressed the need to pay attention to this kind of journalism, which allows interested citizens to become journalists and contribute to the delivery of true information to the audience. The trainer Yasin Al-Zikri, who accompanied the trainees throughout the three days, stressed that the development of modern technological means allowed all people to make TV reports professionally by using simple tools such as smart telephones and others. Al-Zikri said that there are many trainees have skills qualifying them to be professional journalists if they were provided with some skills, and this is what the course aims at. For his part, the trainees delegate and the head of Youth Initiative, Riadh Al-Srori stressed the importance of organizing this kind of specialized and professional courses. Srori pointed out that the holding of this course on this level and way is such an urgent need for the journalists and young activists in this city for a long time.
