The Studies and Economic Media Center (SEMC) has officially joined the Global Media and Information Literacy Alliance (MIL Alliance), a UNESCO initiative. With this step, SEMC becomes one of the accredited partners in a global network that aims to promote media awareness and empower individuals to access, analyze, and engage with information critically and effectively.
This membership reflects SEMC’s ongoing commitment to fostering a more informed and responsible media environment in Yemen through its specialized programs focused on combating misinformation, supporting professional journalism, and empowering journalists to carry out their work with independence and integrity.
Joining the MIL Alliance opens broad opportunities for collaboration with international organizations, research centers, and media networks concerned with media and information literacy. It also paves the way for developing training and educational tools that will enhance the capacity of Yemeni society and build stronger resilience against disinformation.
It is worth noting that the Studies and Economic Media Center is a non-profit civil society organization working to promote transparency, raise public awareness on economic issues, support citizen participation in decision-making, and economically empower youth and women while strengthening their role in peacebuilding.
