SEMC launch : Yemen’s economy indicators Report_June_16

The Studies and Economic Media Center (SEMC) has released its report titled “Yemen’s economy indicators” for June, which sheds light on the economic and humanitarian conditions in Yemen. The report indicates the prices and availability of basic food commodities in target governorates- Sana’a, Taiz, Aden, Hodeida, Mareb and Hadramout. It also contains a summary on the situation in Yemen in terms of public services- health, electricity, water , as well as trade activities at sea ports . The document also outlines the security and political situation in Yemen during the month of June , and monitors the exchange rate of Yemeni Rial against foreign currencies , including the US Dollar. The report, which is part of Rasad (monitoring) project, is released on a monthly basis by SEMC in cooperation with the international private enterprise center (CIPE) . SEMC is a NGO that works towards a successful and transparent economy by spreading awareness of economic issues, boosting transparency and citizens’ involvement in decision-making. It seeks to achieve the economic empowerment of men and women, reduction of conflicts, and creation of professional media.
